ADPC Annouce Dates for the 2013 NIE Short Course
We are pleased to let you know that
applications for the 2013 Professional Short Course in NIE in Thailand are
now being accepted. The course will be run by the Asian Disaster
Preparedness Center (ADPC), is scheduled for the 7th to the 18th
October, 2013, and will be held in Bangkok.
The course will cover key elements of NIE, including:
• Assessments, surveys and surveillance
• Food security and food assistance
• Micronutrient interventions
• Management of acute malnutrition
• Infant and young child feeding in emergencies
It will also include more general issues such as coordination, humanitarian standards and emergency preparedness.

NIE Course in Uganda Cancelled
We are disappointed to announce that the Professional Short Course in NIE, that was due to run in Uganda in May, has had to be cancelled. Makerere University very much regret the cancellation, but were forced to take this decision due to financial considerations.

New Application Deadline for Uganda
The deadline for applying for the next Professional Short Course in NIE in Uganda has been extended until May 15th 2013. The course will be run by the Makerere University
School of Public Health in Kampala, and is scheduled for the 27th May -
7th June, 2013.
